Safeguarding Adults
Safeguarding adults means helping vulnerable adults live free from abuse and neglect. This used to be called 'adult protection'.
Vulnerable adults are people who are vulnerable because of their mental health, physical disability, age or illness. They may find it difficult to protect themselves from abuse. Everybody can help vulnerable adults to live free from harm.
If you are worried about a vulnerable adult, please report this to your line manager and/or contact the Access Service, part of Adult Social Services:
Tel: 020 7527 2299
Fax: 020 7527 5114
Email: access.service@islington.gov.uk
If the situation is urgent and you think someone may be at risk of immediate harm:
- Take yourself out of danger
- Call '999'
If you would like to know more about safeguarding adults there is a ‘Multi-Agency Policy and Procedure’ and an easy to read guide at the bottom of this page
You can also visit the Islington Council safeguarding adults webpages, which have more information about the Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board.
