Improving Access to Psychological Therapies

There are times when everyone feels stressed or unhappy. Generally, these bad times pass, but sometimes there are problems that do not go away and it gets harder and harder to cope. At some point in their life, one in every four people feels this way.

“When you’re in the depths of depression you can think it’s never going to end”

Talking about your problems really can help. The new Improving Access to Psychological Therapies project in Islington provides effective help and support for common difficulties such as anxiety or depression. The service can give you the time to talk, and help you learn ways to help yourself, so that you feel more able to cope with your own problems. It is provided by trained workers, based in GP surgeries, health centres, service hubs and community venues.

“I’d advise anyone who’s feeling depressed or anxious to ask for help… the longer you leave it the worse it gets”

Different people have different needs, so the service offers a number of different free, confidential options which could help you.
