The Nutrition and Dietetics team is made up of recognised experts in nutrition and diet and are here to serve our diverse local community. We work to promote health through good nutrition on an individual, community and population level using the most up-to-date evidence.

For all clients registered with an Islington GP.

How to get there
Directions to get to your appointment will be sent with your appointment confirmation letter. Provisions are available for people with disabilities.
What does the service do?
We will provide you with the necessary nutrition knowledge and skills to help you change your behaviour and reach your goal e.g. to lose weight. We ensure that our clients are receiving the correct dietary advice and guidance in a variety of settings, using the best available evidence.
Clinics:
Adult services: we run clinics across Islington that all clients registered with a GP in the Islington area can access. These are based at 17 different GP practices and run on a regular basis. We also run weight management group sessions at Isledon Road Medical Centre.
Children’s services:
We run regular clinics at various locations in Islington including the Northern Health Centre.
Public health:
We work closely with NHS Islington’s Public Health team to promote key healthy eating messages. We are involved in a number of public health initiatives across Islington. This includes a dietitian who assists schools to meet the healthy eating criteria as set out in the National Schools Programme.
Clients at home:
We provide help and support for both adults and children referred to the service who require dietary advice but who cannot access clinics e.g. house bound home enteral tube feeding clients and palliative care clients.
Nursing and residential homes:
Any client registered with an Islington GP and living in a nursing or residential home can be seen by our service.
Child Development Team:
Our children’s dietitian is part of the Child Development Team.
Mental health services:
The mental health dietitian provides a service to the mental health clients at Simmons House Adolescent Unit.

Working Hours:
The office is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Appointments are offered during these times. There is a limited service out of hours. We are working towards increasing our out of hours service in response to your feedback.
