Who is the service is for?
The Bladder and Bowel Care Service sees both adults and children (from the age of 3 years) who have any bladder or bowel problems.
What does the service do?
The Bladder and Bowel Care Service delivers expert specialist care to individuals who are experiencing bladder and/or bowel dysfunctions. The service delivers incontinence products to patients as prescribed by health professionals.
How are patients referred to the service?
You can be referred to this service by any health or social care professional. You can also refer yourself to the service by contacting the Administrative Referral Team Islington.

Where are clinics held?
Our clinics are run on a half day basis by appointment only. Clinics are held at the following locations in Camden and Islington:

Service User's group
The Bladder and Bowel Care Service has a group for people who use the service that meets every three months. The group discusses ways to improve the service. For information about becoming involved in the group please call the general enquiries line on 020 3316 8401.
Top tips
- Drink approximately 1and a half to 2 litres of fluid per day (in total). Restricting your fluids can make your symptoms worse.
- Avoid caffeine based drinks such as tea and coffee. Try decaffeinated drinks instead.
- Avoid all fizzy drinks especially of the cola variety as these can make your symptoms worse.
- Eat a balanced diet and ensure you have your 5 portions of fruit and/or vegetables each day.
