Find out more

The Adolescent Outreach Team provides intensive community support to young people aged 13-17 with severe mental health problems and their families living in Camden and Islington.

The team offers a range of treatments including medication, family work, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and care co-ordination. The team closely collaborates with the adult Early Intervention Service for young people with psychotic illnesses. The team is also able to provide consultation and advice.

What we can help with

We can help with severe mental health problems that have a major impact on day-to-day functioning. Young people must be unable to access or engage with clinic-based services.

The team is unable to work with young people with a primary diagnosis of learning difficulties, conduct disorder or substance misuse.

How are young people referred to the service?

The team is only able to accept referrals from the following sources at the current time:

  • Child and Family Consultation Service
  • In-patient units
  • Adult mental heath services
  • A&E liaison teams
